Friendly Fire (A Christian Poem)

Deconstructing child of God

May I ask you where God went wrong?

The hurt inside you building up like a bomb

But the recipient of your crosshairs simply doesn't belong

The pain you’ve endured, the hurt you feel

Know that He cares, your feelings are real

I speak the truth to you, so here’s the deal

People hurt you who are cold as steel

Please don’t blame God, let it be known

Sacks of flesh and sin & desires from below

Hurt you with no trace of guilt and a Heart made of stone

But God saw it all, and your story won’t go untold

I wish I could erase the heartache & pain you’ve been through

But I can offer my ears & say I’ve been there too

People will fail us, none of this new

But those people will get theirs and God will rebuild you
